AUTARCY
The world of modern buildings surrounds us, envelops us. It unfolds as far as the eye can see and seems to hardly ever change. The twentieth century architecture in which we live today is that of an interconnected world, where all the trades depend on each other, but above all depend on the whole world. Each construction calls upon tools and materials that are ever more specific, ever more standardized, ever more composite. We decide to turn a blind eye to a number of practices, ethical, social and philosophically more than questionable because they take place far from us, both geographically and in the chain of work and transport. We wanted to question this approach, this ethics of construction which seems to be, at first sight, the only way to make architecture today. To do so, we had the opportunity to meet and discuss with different professionals who question this modus operandi.
On the occasion of the release of LA magazine’s issue 4, Kuník de Morsier will offer a stimulating lecture highlighting their various projects, on the theme of autarky. The performance will be followed by an aperitif offered by the editorial staff during which it will be possible to purchase the new edition.
