Daylight is the most fascinating building material in architecture. You can’t order it and you don’t have to pay for it. The fact that materials, colors and openings are used to let light in or out, to direct it, to reflect it and to dose it, makes its use the structural ensnaring of an ephemeral material. It is so sought after because it promises more than just to expose.⠀

Daylight is a kind of primordial material of architecture. The new issue tells a long story of light: of solar construction since the 1990s, of watchmaking since the studios in the farmhouses of the Jura, of light on Ottoman sacred buildings.⠀

The new Audemars Piguet manufacture in Le Locle enriches the traditional watchmaking atelier with northern light with direct sunlight and is a production facility and showcase in one.⠀
